Welcome…

Thanks for landing here!

Growing up in a small town in East Tennessee, I spent most of my time on the rivers and trails of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I’ve spent the last four years living a nomadic lifestyle, working seasonal jobs and discovering different parts of the world, but always keeping my ‘Blue Ridge Roots’ close to my heart. With this blog, I hope to use my personal experiences to provide useful information about living a life outdoors while traveling on a backpackers budget.

Ever since I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2014, I have committed myself to a life in outdoor exploration. So far, I have lived a year in New Zealand, spent three weeks road tripping in Australia, worked seasonally in Alaska, and driven countless miles in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploring national parks in the United States and Canada.

And that’s only the beginning…

As I continue trekking across this planet, I look forward to sharing my adventures through my writing and photography. Come journey with me as I hope to inspire you to enjoy this wonderful world for yourself.

Cheers,

JMH
